The Cryptography and Information Security laboratory is a service of the University of Malaga managed by the BIOSIP research group. As such, it offers society the possibility of transferring knowledge through the analysis and design of security algorithms, systems and protocols.
The laboratory is also an essential element in the promotion of the study of cryptography and information security in telecommunications engineering degrees.
It was founded on 2011 by members of the Communications Engineering Department at Telecommunications Engineering School (University of Málaga). Since 2018, its members belong to the BIOSIP research group (also located at Telecommunication Enginerring School) that is responsible of its mangement.
El laboratorio de Criptografía y Seguridad de la Información es un servicio de la Universidad de Málaga gestionado desde el grupo de investigación BIOSIP. Como tal, ofrece a la sociedad la posibilidad de transferir conocimiento a través del análisis y diseño de algoritmos, sistemas y protocolos de seguridad.
El laboratorio es además un elemento esencial en el fomento del estudio de la criptografía y la seguridad de la información en las titulaciones de ingeniería de telecomunicación.
Fue fundado en 2011 por miembros del Departamento Ingeniería de Comunicaciones de la Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería de Telecomuniación de la Universidad de Málaga. Desde 2018 sus miembros pertenecen al grupo de investigación BIOSIP (perteneciente también a la E.T.S.I. Telecomunicación) que es el responsable de su gestión.
